The process was easy.
I did file a claim with Travel Insured International on August 5, 2026. I used their website to submit documents requested by them as per the website's definitions. The definitions themselves seemed unclear to me, so I did the best I could.
It was 10 days before I received any response from them, on 8/15. In this email I was told what I had sent to them was incomplete, and they responded with three forms that I was to use to complete what they needed. This surprised me somewhat because no where (to my knowledge) on their claims software were these forms available. I guess they assumed they would respond with the correct forms after seeing the generalized documents first sent on 8/8. Seemed a bit inefficient.
I filled out all of their forms and sent them back to them on 8/21 and have heard nothing yet from them.
Am I to assume this is the norm in the industry? Waiting 10 or more days for the first response, then telling me that I need to use additional forms of their design for a second filing?
I have to admit that I am a bit frustrated by the length of time this is taking. At this point I would not recommend Travel Insured International to others unless I am mistaken as to what is the norm in the industry.
so far so good, I got an email acknowledging that they have my documents and will be in touch if anything else is needed
The biggest reason I took, the insurance was for the healthcare coverage. As a senior and Medicare, my insurance is not effective in Spain. There are also wildfires in Spain, so we are concerned that it might be canceled outright. That did not happen, but it was a real concern. I guess the best insurance is the insurance you don’t have to use and provide you a piece of mind, the healthcare coverage was premium, even if it was not utilized.
Found the claim filing process difficult since it would not accept iPhoto scans. Had to convert many scans to pdf. Took me over 5 hours for a very basic claim. Not impressed.
Very slow experience in terms of getting my trip interruption claim processed due to a medical emergency. I was promised 3 week turnaround time. I had to check in multiple times to get an answer, , it was finally resolved after 8 weeks. They did not explain why some of the reimbursement requested wasn't approved, in the EOB document. Would not recommend this travel insurance company.
I was traveling with two other people, and unfortunately, had to have separate policies for each one of them which I thought was unnecessary and a little cumbersome
very pleasant . Explanation and ease of the getting the policy . I would do it again.
Quick and seamless claim process, I am very happy with everything!
Enrollment was simple. Help was good and appreciated. Always good to have peace of mind about an upcoming trip.
