We had to cancel our trip that was insured through Travel Insured International. We filed a claim and the tour operator provided their documents. The process was pretty straightforward and Travel Insured Claims Group kept me apprised of the progress. We received a check in full since I had cancel-for-any-reason as part of my policy. They even made a courtesy call when the check was being deposited to make sure everything was approved and to alert me that the money was in transfer. Would use Travel Insured again.
Answered my call and answered my questions about where we could seek medical care. Flexible about where we could go. Followed up over the subsequent 2 days.
However, once we determined no more care was needed, “the case was closed”, and I have heard no timeline or information about reimbursement.
After adjusting dates on trips, I wanted the updated policies to show up on Squaremouth under All Purchased Policies reflecting those changes. Requested at least twice and it didn't happen. Just checked again this morning and it still the original information on policies 260218RTL01547 and 260211RTL0509.
If the first one is not updated, it will show as expired months before I travel (changed to July 2027). Not acceptable.
Provided all the information to merchant and still advised claim is delayed
Excellent experience with Travel Insured International, nice surprise! I've purchased trip insurance about twice a year since 2021, nothing major but Squaremouth and similar sites make it easy to find reasonable coverage at reasonable cost imo. This time I purchased a cheap bare minimum policy for a trip to Ireland. Flight back was cancelled due to mechanical failure and United Airlines response was worst I've experienced from them; we ended up paying out of pocket to fly home. Travel Insured was great to work with: I actually spoke with humans, knowledgeable and helpful. The cheap policy I bought didn't include full flight cancellation so I thought I might not get anything. The agent actually searched the policy and found a delay clause that she thought we'd qualify for even if only partial coverage. Clear instructions for submitting a claim, good email updates and website tracking. I had a question about a required document, they provided a direct phone number without a bunch of automated prompts, agent returned my call quickly and listened and walked me through next steps. Yes of course it was a successful claim or I likely wouldn't submit a glowing review! But they truly handled it well, and only about a month from claim to payout.
Filed a claim more than one month ago and have had NO response of any kind--not even an email acknowledging the claim.
Purchase experience on Squaremouth is always great with the ability to compare many policies with ease so we continue to return to that site. My wife had an accident which resulted in an injury during our trip so we had to contact Travel Insured International's emergency assistance line which is run by a service called "Robin Assist". They answered our calls promptly without needing to navigate a long AI menu and without a long hold time which is greatly appreciated in a time of crisis. The Robin Assist agents were very helpful and knowledgeable and advised us where to seek emergency care at our location (in Malta) and they collected the medical receipts and reports for review and eventual reimbursement. Due to the nature of the injury, we were unable to continue our trip and the Robin Assist folks cleared us for "Trip Interruption" coverage (later that same day after receiving emergency care) so we could modify our reservations and begin our return home the next day (5 days ahead of schedule). We have since filed a complete claim for all medical expenses as well as all incremental costs necessary to terminate our trip early and return home including extra travel expenses and penalty charges for cancelled onward reservations. The claim is under review and we cannot rate the claim service at this time but so far the emergency assistance service has been excellent.

We insured our 3 week European vacation in Aug 2026 with Travel Insured International through Squaremouth Agency. Unfortunately after about 2 weeks into the trip, my wife slipped and fell on a catamaran charter/excursion in Malta. She was unable to walk under her own power due to a broken kneecap and torn meniscus and required a wheelchair for transport in addition to being in constant pain. We immediately contacted Robin Assist (the claims and emergency assistance contractor for Travel Insured International) who was able to direct us to a local hospital to obtain emergency care and was otherwise very polite and helpful to us during this phase of our contact. Due to the extent of the injury, Robin Assist approved "curtailment" of our trip and authorized us to begin return travel back to our home state of Arizona, USA. I was able to exchange our airline ticket to return to Phoenix from Malta, however it would require an overnight connection and airport change in London (London Gatwick to London Heathrow) as there were no available connections with the airline we were ticketed (due to the fact that our original origin point for return travel was not Malta but rather Rome). We safely returned home 2 days later and I began the claims process with Robin Assist. After approximately 2 months time including one appeal of a partial denial of my claim, I had a conversation with Jenna Mast the claims adjuster at Robin Assist. Jenna informed me that the partial denial of the expenses associated with the land connection between the two airports in London including the overnight stay near London Heathrow would NOT be covered BECAUSE the policy wording is such that land travel in taxis and private vehicles is not allowed but rather only air travel in the original class of service is covered (which was business class in this case) and hotel stays are not covered at all. Since a same day connection was not possible using the ticket we already had and exchanged, we could theoretically have rebooked on an entirely different airline and paid up to approximately USD $20,000 additional (based on our trip interruption purchased coverage) and potentially been reimbursed by this policy. Since we acted in good faith and incurred only $766.80 in additional costs instead of taking a more expensive option, our claim needs to be denied according to Jenna. Something is seriously wrong with this company when they cannot see that the option taken was in the best interest of both parties. We recommend that that purchasers avoid this company as our experience is that they will not pay for valid claims and insist on an extremely narrow interpretation of the policy terms which doesn't even make the best finanical sense for them.
Thus far they have been very responsive during the claim process.

Travel Insured was very responsive to my claim.. Correspondence was timely. There was no procrastination in their handling of my claim or the payment of benefits. The paperwork was very extensive, perhaps a bit burdensome. I would use them again.
The medical claim documentation seems reasonable and was filed with a subsidiary of the main company. However, to file for reimbursement for tours from missed ports due to the ship's inability to dock, is ridiculous! They are asking for WAY TOO MANY DOCUMENTS. It is needlessly complicated and I feel just a pain so customers won't file. I will not use this company (your insurance company) again due to this.
This is the second time I've used you and both experiences have been exemplary.
