Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
I was purchasing supplemental travel insurance, and it was impossible to determine how to do that without contacting a live representative.
remarkably easy to put into place
Tin Leg was great to deal with. at the on set I had numerous questions and a high level of apprehension. But after a lengthy conversation in customer service I felt Very Good about using Tin Leg for our coverage on a recent trip to Europe' Defiantly will use them again.
Great experience talking to the representatives and choosing the right policy for myself and mt grand-daughter.
I was referred to you by a friend who travels alot. She named several other policies, but mentioned yours was the best.
Fortunately, we did not have to use the Insurance. But one never knows what can happen.
The customer service person was very helpful while I was out of the US and in the US. I would use them again. I just hope I don’t need to make a claim next time.
Not sure if I will be filling a claim. I'm trying to get reimbursement through Delta first.
All went fine. Peace of mind even though, thankfully we didn’t need to use it.
It’s easier to work with an actual person than online. Agents were great.
One thing I dislike about the policy is that you have this small window to be covered for pre-existing conditions. Prior to planning this trip and buying tickets there was no way I would know this therefore I miss the window. It seems unfair to those of us that live with pre-existing conditions. I am a Kidney Transplant recipient. There is no way I’d be able to know whether or not something could go wrong during my travels. I’ve been too many countries and have had no issues, but it is a life-saving situation that I would want to cover while I’m in another country having this policy makes it appear that those of us who have pre-existing conditions are being discriminated against.
The claims process was very smooth. While no one ever wants to have to file a claim, the staff made this as painless as possible. When I was unable to initially find the link for the claims process, a customer service person very patiently took my initial information verbally and sent me the link so that I could begin uploading the claim and have an initial conversation with my adjuster. The adjustor, Andrew Zaragoza, was helpful and efficient and communicated regularly throughout the claims process. If I had one recommendation, it would be to review the physician statement, which appears to be largely designed for pre-existing medical conditions rather than a clearly emergency situation. Some of the questions were confusing to doctors who had never seen my husband until this emergency situation and I spent considerable time clarifying what information was really needed (Anthony was very helpful for this). In the end, the very detailed information I provided through medical portals appeared to be sufficient since I never got additional questions from the doctors. It would have been helpful to me if this would have been clarified upfront. Payment of the claim was prompt.
I submitted a claim for a canceled flight at the beginning of May. It is now the end of September and I am still waiting to hear about it. I have emailed inquiries several times asking for updates. Is this a typical time frame?

Took almost 5 months to resolve where I had to email them multiple times to ask about the progress

Your claim was paid on September 29, but we recognize that the review process took significantly longer than it should have. We are actively working with our claims administrator to improve our processes and prevent these delays going forward.
