Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
I found it a helpful comparison tool to narrow down to a few policies and then had a helpful conversation with a live person to answer a few questions to make my final policy selection.
Did not have to communicate or file.
It is relatively early in the claims process (week one) to provide much feedback. But here are my comments.
(2) The receipt submission process was a little unclear - meaning I did not realize you could submit more than one receipt for the same category.
(1) After submitting my claim I expected an email to reflect my action but I did not received any confirmation.
Everyone was very nice and attentive to my needs. Thank you!

Thank you!
So far it’s been relatively easy. Part of our claim was rejected which was the payment information for parts of our trip. I sent an email explaining the situation so hopefully we come to a resolution soon. I do want to mention the woman who helped me start our original claims, she was so helpful and lovely considering I was beyond worked up while stuck in Paris after missing two connections due to airline issues.
Tin Leg appeared to be thorough with their documentation requirements, but not overly burdensome. They appeared to actually consider my input of circumstances about the claim. I believe the outcome was reasonable and acceptable.
Good service from Tinleg
This trip I didn't need any medical claims, thankfully. But I had a delay of trip, 12 hours to be exact, and they denied my claim based on wording in the contract. United stated my flight was delayed due to operational issues beyond their control and I was told this travel insurance doesn't cover that type of delay, only things like sickness, airport shutdown, weather related, etc. So United used a generic term for their mess up as there was no other reason to be delayed and because of that the claim is denied. I'm not happy about it but it's not worth fighting for it. Just makes it a little less likely I'll recommend this to others now as I can see them looking for reasons to deny paying. Took quite some time too, a couple of weeks for a non favorable decision to be made.
So far so good. Waiting for them to approve payment
I think the explanation of benefits could be explained better. I know it is probably not an issue for you but as a consumer, it would be nice to have a more personalized explanation. What to do if I have a problem. What exactly is covered. Give some examples, like " if you get sick, you are
going to have to pay for services rendered and then you need to submit a claim
to
Tin Leg etc. Give some
examples. Also
explain what is Square Mouth and how does it relate to Tin Leg etc. You know what is going on but to me
it's a bit unclear. I have had to use Tin Leg in the past (2019) and it worked great. Did not use it for this recent trip. Thanks
